Admissions

We warmly welcome enquiries from families interested in joining Bewdley Primary School, whether you are looking for a Nursery place, applying for Reception or moving your child to us during the school year.

Reception Admissions

Bewdley Primary School is a community primary school and Worcestershire County Council is responsible for admissions to Reception and other school year groups.

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception is 60 children.

Applications for a Reception place must be made through your home local authority, even if Bewdley Primary School is not your catchment school.

Places are allocated in accordance with Worcestershire County Council's published admissions criteria. Living within the school's catchment area does not automatically guarantee a place.

Nursery Admissions

Bewdley Primary School has a maintained Nursery welcoming children from the term following their second birthday. Our Nursery provides an integrated learning environment in which two-, three- and four-year-olds learn and play together.

Nursery applications are managed directly by the school, separately from Reception admissions.

Parents and carers can apply for a Nursery place at any point during the year. Places are generally offered at the beginning of each term, subject to availability.

Nursery application forms are available on our website or directly from the school.

Please note: Attending Bewdley Primary School Nursery does not guarantee a Reception place or give a child priority in the Reception admissions process. A separate application must be made through the local authority.

Our Nursery Admissions Policy provides further information about the allocation of places, funded and paid sessions, waiting lists and admissions criteria.

In-Year Admissions and School Transfers

If you would like your child to join Bewdley Primary School during the academic year, or transfer from another school, applications are coordinated by Worcestershire County Council. We welcome enquiries from families considering a move to Bewdley and would be happy to discuss our school with you.
