Daily Story Books

The children in Elmer’s Nursery have been inspired this week thanks to their daily story books which are all linked to different animals. They’ve been on safari to look for animals, created them using a whole range of materials, made zoos and even taken their poorly animals to the vet!

Fun at home!

The children in Elmer’s Nursery have been enjoying a different book every day, including The Gruffalo and The Tiger Who Came to Tea. They’ve been making masks and models of the characters, role playing, caring for mini-beasts, cooking, having picnics and a whole host of other fabulous activities!

How Vegetables Grow

In Elmer’s Nursery, the children have been learning how vegetables grow and planting seeds so that they can grow some of their own. They also made vegetable soup and tasted a range of vegetables including potatoes, parsnips, onions, cauliflower and swede!

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

The theme in Elmer’s Nursery this week has been ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. The children have been drawing and painting the characters, creating the bears using 2D shapes and counting presents for the bears on the computer. The best part, though, was making and tasting the bears’ porridge!

Little Red Riding Hood

In Elmer’s Nursery, the children have been investigating the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood.’ Over the week, the children have been making maps to help Little Re

d Riding Hood get to Granny’s house, counted the fruit in her basket, worked together to make paths in the woods and even telephoned the police!

The children will be looking at more traditional tales as the term continues.

Elmer's Christmas Nativity

Our school hall has been filled to the brim this Christmas, with 14 fabulous performances being staged over the last couple of weeks. Whether they were watching our 3-year old Nursery’s first nativity or Year Six’s last, all of our audiences were treated to confident, energetic and heartwarming performances.
Thank you for not posting your own pictures of the productions on social media. We are able to do so on our own website and Facebook page as we only share images of children whose parents/carers have given permission to do so.

Christmas Fun

After a morning of fun and games, the children in Elmer’s Nursery, Reception and Key Stage One enjoyed an afternoon performance of The Christmas Tree who came for Tea. Thank you again to Bewdley Town Criers who came to the rescue at the last minute when our original touring company had to cancel.

Christmas has arrived in Elmer's

Christmas has certainly arrived in Elmer’s Nursery thanks to a fantastic effort from both the children and their parents and carers. They painted Santa’s Grotto, made paper plate snowmen, created hand print reindeers, made Christmas calendars, painted wreaths and generally had lots of festive fun!
