Donna Stevens
I have recently re-joined the governing body as a co-opted governor. I was previously a parent governor at what was then Wribbenhall First School and was on the governors when the school transitioned to a Primary school, moved to the new site and was part of the interview panel for the current head teacher.
At the time I had 4 daughters attending schools in Bewdley and finished on the governors as my youngest moved to high school. My second daughter Kate is now teaching at the school.
I have a background in early years and have worked as a nursery manager in both the private and local authority sector and for OFSTED as an early years' inspector. I have extensive safeguarding training and experience. I have lived and worked in culturally diverse areas of the country. For several years I was on the committee of the Wyre Forest Swimming club as Welfare and Safeguarding Officer and completed Team Manager training supporting young swimmers' poolside at events and accompanying the team on overnight stays. I currently volunteer at a local Squirrels group as an assistant leader (a new scouting venture for children aged 4-6 years). I am currently working part-time at my in-laws family business in sales and accounts.
I am part of the Finance and Personnel Committee. As a family we have been involved with the school for over 20 years and through all the changes the school has remained completely committed to providing an exciting, interesting and creative learning experience for each individual child. I am looking forward to being part of the governing body again and hope I can share my experience and knowledge.
