Year Six Curriculum

At Bewdley Primary School, our Year 6 curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, deepen understanding and prepare children for the exciting next stage of their education.

Throughout the year, children explore a rich and varied range of topics that encourage them to question, investigate, create and make meaningful connections between different areas of learning. From uncovering the secrets of the World Wars and exploring Ancient Egypt to investigating the human body and discovering the science of light, our curriculum brings learning to life through engaging enquiries and practical experiences.

Our curriculum is carefully planned to build upon the knowledge and skills children have developed throughout their time at primary school. We place a strong emphasis on developing independence, critical thinking, creativity and resilience, ensuring that children are both challenged and supported to achieve their best.

Alongside academic learning, we recognise the importance of children's personal development, wellbeing and preparation for secondary school. We aim to ensure that every child finishes Year 6 feeling confident, capable and ready to embrace new opportunities.
