Safeguarding
At Bewdley Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our children is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and supportive environment where every child feels valued, listened to and protected.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. All members of staff receive regular safeguarding training and work together to ensure that children are safe, both in school and beyond.
We recognise the importance of working closely with families and other professionals to provide the right support at the right time. If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please speak to a member of our safeguarding team. We are always here to listen and help.

How We Keep Children Safe
Safeguarding is an important part of everyday life at Bewdley Primary School. We work closely with families, external agencies and other professionals to identify concerns early and provide appropriate support for children.
Operation Encompass
Bewdley Primary School participates in Operation Encompass, a partnership between schools and the police that helps us support children who have experienced or been exposed to domestic abuse. Through this partnership, the school can receive information from the police so that appropriate support can be offered to children when they arrive at school.
Prevent Duty
As part of our safeguarding responsibilities, we have a duty to protect children from the risk of radicalisation and extremist influences. We promote respect, tolerance, critical thinking and an understanding of different beliefs and perspectives. Staff are trained to recognise and respond appropriately to concerns, following our established safeguarding procedures.
Private Fostering
Private fostering is an arrangement where a child under 16 (or under 18 if disabled) is cared for by someone who is not their parent or close relative for 28 days or more.
Private fostering arrangements must be reported to the local authority so that appropriate checks and support can be provided.
If you are aware of a private fostering arrangement, or would like advice, please contact the school's safeguarding team or Worcestershire Children's Services.
