Why Choose BPS?

Bewdley Primary is more than a school.

Choosing a primary school is about so much more than results, buildings or what happens in the classroom.

At Bewdley Primary School, we want every child to learn well, aim high and experience a childhood full of opportunity. We are ambitious for our pupils but we also know that some of the most important parts of primary school happen beyond an exercise book: friendships made, confidence discovered, talents uncovered, challenges overcome and memories created.

We want children to leave us proud of what they've achieved, confident in who they are and excited about what comes next.

Why Families Choose BPS

Ambition for every child

We have high expectations because we believe every child is capable of achieving great things. Strong teaching, a carefully planned curriculum and the right balance of challenge and support help children build knowledge, confidence and independence.

A childhood full of opportunity

School should contain moments children remember. Music, performance, sport, trips, residentials, competitions, celebrations and new experiences all form part of life at BPS. We want children to discover interests and talents they didn't know they had – and hopefully surprise themselves along the way!

Time and space to play

Play is an important part of childhood – and an important part of learning. Through our OPAL programme, we are transforming playtimes to give children more freedom to explore, create, collaborate and be active outdoors.

We want children to learn how to manage risk, solve problems, develop friendships and use their imaginations – while having a great time doing it.

Known, valued and included

Relationships matter enormously at BPS. We want every child to feel known, listened to and valued as an individual. We take time to understand our children, celebrate what makes them unique and make sure they know there are adults in school who care about them.

Inclusion means helping every child to participate, succeed and feel that they are an important part of our school community.

Proudly part of Bewdley

Our town is part of who we are. We want children to grow up feeling connected to the community around them and proud to be part of it. From the Bewdley Carnival and local events to performances, partnerships and projects, we look for opportunities for our children to play an active part in the life of the town and local community.

Learning that goes further

A great curriculum should open doors. Alongside strong foundations in reading, writing and maths, we want children to think deeply, ask questions, be creative and discover the subjects that excite them.

From science, history and the arts to sport, music and the wider world, we want learning at BPS to be rich, purposeful and memorable – giving children the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for whatever comes next.

Come and see us for yourself

We’re incredibly proud of our school but the best way to get a feel for Bewdley Primary is to come and see it for yourself. Come and have a look around, meet some of the people who make our school what it is and see us on an ordinary school day — because that’s when BPS is at its best.
