Alice Westbury

I became a parent governor in 2015 and have found it to be a really rewarding and interesting role to take on. As a mum of three, (2 of whom attend Bewdley Primary) and having 13 years of experience as a secondary teacher, I felt I would be able to contribute towards decision making in an informed and balanced way.

I am currently a link governor for Lower Key Stage 2. I enjoy working with the Key Stage coordinator to monitor teaching and learning, as well as the progress children make in this area. I am the link governor for SEN and part of this responsibility means keeping up to date with SEN legislation and ensuring the school’s policy helps nurture and support all SEN pupils.

My other responsibility is to be part of the Head Teacher Performance panel, which helps to ensure that there is effective monitoring and support in place for the Head Teacher.

Bewdley Primary School is driven by a common passion to do its best for each individual child and the staff work really hard to make children’s learning engaging and exciting.
